GOSH and John Sisk & Son Ltd are committed to working with and support the local community. John Sisk & Son Ltd will update this website, produce monthly newsletters, use the external noticeboard and hold a monthly community drop-in to update the progress of the project.
John Sisk & Son Ltd have a full time Social Value and Stakeholder Manager, Patsy Evans she is here to support and inform the residents, businesses and the Camden Community.
As part of our commitment, we will look at ways where we can support local education providers, charities and the local community and keep you updated with the activities.

December 2025 - Community
The project purchased and donated two sets of wooden toys where are made each year in Dublin by our apprentice joiners.
This year’s bundle included a rocking horse, table & chair, double sided easel along with soft toys and art items.
The donations went to the local St George the Martyr Primary School and Holborn Community Centre.
Our supply chain partners Getjar and Dalkia kindly paid for one set of the toys.
December 2025 - GOSH
Sisk sponsored the Fr Murphys Camogie and Ladies Football club for their away kit. Due to this their Chairman Larry O’Leary wanted to ‘give back’ and decided to buy some large teddies donned with the same jersey to donate to GOSH.
The timing was perfect as the donation was made before Christmas, in time for some children to receive one of the teddies.
Huge thanks to Larry for organising this which I have no doubt would have brought a little bit of joy to some children.


December 2025 - Workforce
The GOSH Project team once again donned their Christmas jumpers and had a stand down with their supply chain to bring everyone together.
Pizza, Sausage rolls and mince pies were had along with a lot of banter.
There were prizes for the best and the worst jumpers – all in good fun!
November 2025 - NHS Kickstart
On the 7th November our Social Value Manager took part in the NHS Kickstart Careers Fair.
Whilst it is run predominately for students interested in careers within the NHS sector, she spoke to a few students who were still making their choices about the careers within the Construction Industry.
November 2025 - Coram’s Fields Fireworks
For the third year running we sponsored the Coram’s Field firework display. The event is hugely popular with the local community and this year they were able to stream it live to the hospital.
November 2025 - Bleed Kit
We are pleased to share with you that we have installed an Emergency Bleed Kit on the corner of Great Ormond Street attached to our hoarding.
The kit is registered with the London Ambulance Service who will give instructions on how to access the kit.
November 2025 - International Men’s Day
We marked International Men’s Day with the opportunity to attend two different webinars based on mental health.
We had treats and ran a quiz with the proceeds going to Pancreatic Cancer UK.
October 2025 - Workforce
October saw our Mental Health Lead carry out sessions of Under the Hard Hat. This included a site standdown for our supply chain.
The new initiative is focused on stress management.
September 2025 - Community
We supported the GOSH showcase event on the 30th September by helping children to colour and make their own crowns or tiaras.

This month we held a coffee morning on site raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support.
July 2025 - Student Engagement
We welcomed a student from the local William Ellis School for a week’s placement. The student had the opportunity to learn more about all the different roles along with accompanied site visits.
July 2025 - Staff Wellbeing
Our own Health Promotional Lead came to site to carry out Longevity Health Talks for the whole of the project along with carrying out individual Functional Movement Screening for staff.

The project celebrated Pride with once again decorating the site, along with a presentation and coffee & cake morning
June 2025 - Engaging with students
This month has once again been a busy month in the community. We were welcomed back to Swiss Cottage School, where the students learnt about construction through bricks and putting structures together.
The project sponsored Camden Girls School for a small group of students to take part in the Engineering Development Industrial Cadets Bronze aware.
Two of the team, Amy, Site Engineer and Jess, Assistant Project Manager, mentored the students through their project of which they chose a Sustainable Theme Park. The students had to plan, write a report and present their idea to a judging panel.

June 2025 - Work Experience Student
We have been joined by a student from the local Capital City College who will spend Tuesday’s and Wednesdays with the project team until 3rd July. He is learning about the different disciplines on site as part of his learning.
June 2025 - Storytelling at Camden Library
Patsy, SV&S Manager joined the Camden Library for their weekly children’ storytelling. The book she read was about children learning about what they could become when they get older, in this case the book lead to construction.
June 2025 - Great Ormond Street Showcase
The Great Ormond Hospital held two half days of play for children visiting the hospital on the 11th and 12th June. Patsy, our Social Value and Stakeholder Manager was invited to join in the fun.
With building blocks, construction toys, art activities, ring toss and bean bag toss she joined the children in their play.
May 2025 - Student Engagement
During May we continued engaging with students on site and in school.
We welcomed a cohort from Capital City College, who learnt about the project.
Our Social Value & Stakeholder Manager had the opportunity to go into a class at Swiss Cottage School to work with the students on construction activities. The students also got to try out the PPE that we wear every day on site.


May 2025 - Mental Health Week
This year the theme for Mental Health Week was community. We marked this with members of the team donating blood at the local West End Blood Donor Centre.
A stand down was held where our Project Manager talked and mental health and importance of it along with our own ‘Peer to Peer Shoulder to Shoulder’ company wide initiative. We have two trained Peer 2 Peer Supporters on our project where anyone can go to and discuss privately and gain advice.
May 2025 - Sisk Cultural Day
Each year we mark and celebrate the diversity of our teams with a Cultural Day. This year was no exception as we celebrated and enjoyed food from different countries.
April 2025 - NHS Kick Start
Our Social Value and Stakeholder Manager attended GOSH Kick Start Day, whereby students from local schools were given the opportunity to look into a range of careers within the NHS and Construction.
March 2025 - Site Visit
On 28th March we had the pleasure of students and tutors from Swiss Cottage School attend the project for a talk on careers and the project.
They were then able to see and watch the current deconstruction in action.
March 2025 - Charity 5-a-Side Football
The project team were invited to enter the Castlehaven Community Association 5-a-side football tournament they had organised.
The team enthusiastically reached the semi-finals in tournament and were delighted to have played a small part in helping the Association raise some much needed funds.
March 2025 - International Women’s Day
This month we have celebrated International Women’s Day with a quiz for staff based on women, which is raising funds for Refuge, a charity for women safely escaping an abuser.
The staff were also treated to cakes to celebrate the day.
Here at the GOSH CCC Project Sisk we are proud to be leading the way with an impressive 25% of our team being females, the UK average is just below 16%. The roles include, Site Manager, Document Controller, Senior Design Manager, Graduate Civil Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, Apprentice Site Manager and Design Coordinator.
March 2025 - Open Doors Construction
The GOSH CCC Project joined the yearly event ran by Build UK by opening up slots for the opportunity to visit the project.
On Tuesday 18th March we hosted Girls Under Construction, Wednesday 19th March we hosted Bath Spa University and Thursday 20th March saw parents from a previous GOSH patient, two members of the London Borough of Camden, an AI expert and attendance from CCS.
Each event were given a presentation with in depth details on the project, along with careers information and a site visit where they were able to see the deconstruction in action.


January 2025 - Suicide Training for Staff
Our UK Mental Health Lead carried out Safe Talk Suicide Awareness training to members of the site team. Ensuring our staff have outlets and people to talk to should they require it is of upmost important to us.
January 2025 - Engaging with Education Providers
The team have been busy engaging with students to raise their skills and knowledge.
Our Social Value & Stakeholder Manager attended King Soloman School for a speed networking event talking to the students about her role and career journey. She also attended William Ellis School and delivered sessions to students prepared by Inspire to prepare students for work experience.
Jess, our Assistant Project Manager attended Euston Construction Skills Centre and carried out a presentation on the project and her career journey so far.
Our Site Manager Keira and Graduate Civil Engineer Amy took part in a day’s event at Euston Construction Skills Centre delivering workshops to students based on construction.


December 2024 - Local donation of Toys, Books and Pyjamas
We donated toys to the local Castlehaven Community Centre and along with toys and pyjamas to GOSH. Both were received very well.
December 2024 - Sisk Toys Donated to Local School
Our Sisk Apprentice Joiners make wooden toys each year which each of our projects donate locally. This year we donated the toys to the local St George the Martyr Cof E Primary School, who were thrilled with the donation.
December 2024 - Christmas Jumper Day
On the 12th December the Sisk Project Team held a Christmas Jumper Day where they raised funds for the Lighthouse Charity for Construction. The charity support people working in the Construction Industry in various ways so it was good to be able to give back.
December 2024 - Somers Town Community Centre
Our Social Value & Stakeholder Manager spent an afternoon volunteering at the Somers Town Community Centre. With members of their team she assisted in the community kitchen where the local community can come and collection up to 5 hot meals to take away as well as stop for a healthy lunch whilst they are there.
November 2024 - Firework display
We were thrilled to have been a sponsor for the local Coram’s Fields firework display. The charity puts on this event every year, along with rides, entertainment and refreshments available to the local community.
The firework display itself is completely free to the community, and the park, paths and roads were lined with families enjoying the event.
October 2024 - Volunteering with The Children’s Book Project
Our Social Value & Stakeholder Manager volunteered to assist the Children’s Book Project. The project itself works to ensure through schools’ children are given the opportunity to choose their own books. They also work with prisons to by using books to keep the relationships between parents and children thrive by giving books to the children to read and talk about.
September 2024 - Coram’s Fields AGM
Sisk were delighted to have joined Coram’s Fields AGM, where an update was given, along with in-depth information on how different areas of the charity work with the young. We were also given two musical performances by very talented young adults who attend Coram’s Field.
A MacMillan coffee morning was held on site in aid of raising funds for the charityAugust 2024 - Coram’s Fields Play day
August saw the project take part in the Coram’s Fields Play Day, hosting a table full of colouring activities, along with a hoop game, beanbag game and hula hoops. Great fun was had by all.
The project team also came together to run a foodbank collection throughout for the local Euston Foodbank, we collected a fantastic amount of food and delivered it to help through August.

July 2024 - Student Work Experience
The week commencing the 15th July we were delighted to be able to offer student Oran a week’s work placement with the project team. Oran was able to visit the live works (accompanied) and spent time with numerous members of staff learning about the different disciplines within the Construction Industry.
July 2024 - Supporting Children’s Summer Scheme
We are continuing supporting the local community and donated an amazon voucher to the Young Camden Foundation to assist with a summer playscheme to help with the purchasing of books for the young people attending.

On the 11th July 2024, the project welcomed students from the local St George the Martyr Primary School.
The project itself is close to the school and we really enjoyed having the opportunity to engage with some students. The visit included them visiting our Digital BIM Cave, where they had the opportunity to use an Xbox controller and VR headset to explore what the new Children’s Cancer Centre will look like once completed.
Returning to our main meeting room where drinks and snacks were waiting followed on by staff assisting them with an activity using spaghetti, blue tac and sellotape to design and build their own bridges.
May 2024 -The Children’s Book Project
We were delighted to have run a book collection through May for the charity who works in providing books for children to enjoy and learn with.
The charity visits schools and prisons to reach out to children ensuring that children get the opportunity to choose a book of their own on these visits.
May 2024 - La Sainte Union School
Patsy Evans, Social Value and Stakeholder Advisor, attended the school on 5th May to volunteer to assist the Year 8 Young Enterprise Day where the students had the opportunity to explore careers, along with learning about salaries and financing.
Patsy will be supporting the school further as she moves into a voluntary role as an Enterprise Advisor.
April 2024 - Westminster University Careers Fair
It was a pleasure to attend the Westminster University Careers Fair in April.
Having the opportunity to talk to students about the routes into the world of construction and the amazing careers available.
March 2024
The rehoming of the concrete animal statues from GOSH took place. The statues had been in place at Great Ormond Street Hospital since 2008, but due to the ongoing works they could no longer be kept in place. Coram’s Fields welcomed a fox, hedgehog, rabbit, owl and squirrel into their play area for children to enjoy. It was not long before the children discovered them. Huge thanks to our supply chain partner Getjar for all their hard work installing these.
December 2023
Sisk made a donation of handmade wooden toys, made by Sisk apprentice carpenters at our Dublin Joinery and training Centre where the apprentice joiners cut, saw, spray and screw the toys together in preparation for donations to be made across the UK, Ireland and Europe.
November 2023
The local Coram’s Fields held their annual fireworks display on the 3rd November 2023. This is one of their most popular events throughout the year.
The event is free to local families and along with the fireworks there was a selection of entertainment from local groups, and some food and drinks stalls were available.
Sisk were happy to make a donation towards this event to make it go with a bang.
We recognise the importance of engaging with students through various activities we can help inspire and encourage young people to take up an amazing career in construction.
Recently our Site Engineer Tadhg Adams and Patsy Evans both attended universities to take part in their careers fairs to talk about the opportunities within Sisk.
